Why do we passionately love to shoot the messenger?

The level of discourse at the Senate hearing was frustrating. The President already signed the law to increase penalty against false news (RA 10951, amending penalties in RA 3815 Art 154).

So, why not just charge Mocha, Nieto (Thinking Pinoy), etc. in court if the yellows actually have solid issues against them? Huh? Tell me.
At this point I think (unless you have better ideas), that, no, a court case is not what they (some Senators) want. (Perhaps because they cannot protect #CocoyGate there? Is that why there was no celebration when the law that strengthened RA 3815 was signed? Whew!)

Nieto was right. As bloggers, what we do is write our thoughts and feelings, with our names and faces embedded in them. When these thoughts and feelings resonate to thousands or even millions of people (who like, comment and share the posts), then it no longer is the "fault" of the blogger. In fact, that's when the Senators -- and the rest of the country for that matter -- SHOULD start to LISTEN, and then RESPOND, not REACT.

In other words, why do we passionately love to shoot the messenger in this country? Shouldn't we address the message instead? That's more productive (and more intellectually challenging) use of time and money... and saliva.

At this time, can't help but feel we're all wasting time and money in all these grand standings. What we need are brains and brawns that actually work to move this country forward. Sad to note that some bloggers are way ahead of that game compared to some Senators.
